Fall Mini Sessions are a great way to capture those beautiful family moments in a short and sweet session, but with that comes a need for a little extra preparation. Here’s how to make the most of your mini photoshoot!
1. Arrive Early
To ensure we can make the most of our time, I highly recommend arriving at least 10-15 minutes early. This gives you a moment to settle in, make any last-minute touch-ups, and make sure we’re ready to go on time. Since these mini sessions are short, we want to capture as many great photos as possible within the time limit. Any delays cut into your session, and unfortunately, we can’t extend the time.
2. Don’t Worry About Getting Perfect Smiles
Parents often feel frustrated if their kids don’t smile or act how they expect during the photoshoot. My advice? Don’t stress! Let your kids be themselves. The most beautiful moments often come from candid interactions, and I love capturing those genuine emotions and connections. Focus on enjoying the time with your family, and I’ll capture the magic as it happens naturally.
3. Dress Comfortably
Wear something that not only looks great but also feels comfortable. You’ll be moving around, playing with your family, and connecting with each other, so you don’t want to be distracted by uncomfortable clothing. When you’re comfortable, it’ll be easier to relax and enjoy the session.
4. Stay Connected with Your Family
During the shoot, don’t worry about constantly looking at the camera. Instead, stay engaged with your family—look at each other, laugh, and have fun. The moments when you’re simply interacting with one another are often the most memorable. If I need you to look at the camera, I’ll guide you, so you can focus on connecting with your loved ones.
5. Let the Kids Have Fun!
If your kids are feeling wild and energetic, let them be! They deserve to have fun, and sometimes those playful, lively moments turn out to be the most beautiful photos. Whether they’re running around or giggling uncontrollably, these are the moments that tell the true story of your family.
